Bremer fails to convince IGC to agree on state law: paper

BAGHDAD, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- Paul Bremer, the US civil administrator in Iraq, has failed to convince members of the Iraqi Interim Governing Council (IGC) to agree on a fundamental law, local newspaper Al Sharq Al Awsat reported on Wednesday.

The IGC members, who were busily discussing the state law for the transitional period, insisted on putting their demands in the law, especially the principle of federation, presidential body and the authorities of the coming council, the report said.
