Chinese medical team arrives for rescue work in Morocco

AL HOCEIMA, Morocco, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese medical team rushed to the quake zone and started rescue work at once after a strong quake hit Al Hoceima in northern Morocco early Tuesday.

Team head Huang Jiaqi told Xinhua Thursday that three of the 12 Chinese medical workers were sent to Mohammed V hospital in Al Hoceima immediately after the quake and all the team members are working day and night.

Chinese doctors voluntarily devoted to rescue work on Tuesday before Moroccan medical workers arrived at the hospital. They did the first surgical operation on a 17-year-old girl on the same day and saved her life.
