EU candidates worried about worsening living conditions: poll

BUDAPEST, March 1 (Xinhua) -- More than half of the population of most European Union (EU) candidate countries in central and eastern Europe are worried about a possible worsening in living conditions, said a survey by a prominent Hungarian research center published on Monday.

According to the survey of 10 EU candidate countries, 59.5 percent of Slovak, 54.7 percent of Czech and 50.7 percent of Polish predicted declining living conditions after their countries ' entry into the European Union.
