Japan suspends poultry imports from China due to bird flu

TOKYO, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- Japan's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries announced late Tuesday it has banned poultry imports from China following confirmation of a bird flu case.

China confirmed in the day that the latest death of ducks in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region was caused by the bird flu virus, but no infections in human beings have been found so far.
