Iraqi Islamic party head to preside IGC in February
BAGHDAD, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- Dr. Muhsin Abdul Hamid, secretary
general of the Iraqi Islamic Party, will be the rotating president of
the Interim Iraqi Governing Council (IGC) for February.
According to the mechanism of the IGC, nine of the 25 members
rotate on the one-month presidency of the council in alphabetic
order.
Six of the members already took this position. They are Ibrahim Al
Jaafary for August, Ahmed Al Chalabi for September, Ayad Alawi for
October, Jalal Talabani for November, Abdul Aziz Al Hakim for
December, and Adnan Al Pachachi for January.
