JULIA PHILLIPS made Hollywood history in 1973 when, as co- producer of The Sting, she became the first female executive to win an Oscar in the Best Picture category.

With her husband, Michael Phillips, she produced three of the biggest hits of the decade - The Sting, Taxi Driver and Close Encounters of the Third Kind - but with the pressures of success came a growing addiction to alcohol and cocaine.
