Poland to consider reducing military presence in Iraq after 2005

PARIS, April 22 (Xinhua) -- Poland is considering reducing its military presence in Iraq after the elections to be held in early 2005, Polish Foreign Minister Wlodzimierz Cimoszewicz said here Thursday.

"After the elections we think that the next year it will be possible to reduce our presence in Iraq," the Polish minister said at a news conference after meeting with his French counterpart Michel Barnier.

The Polish defense minister also said in Warsaw on Thursday that Poland considered a substantial reduction of its troops only after the elections in Iraq before January 31, 2005.
