Indonesia decides on list of presidential candidates

JAKARTA, May 24 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian commission for general elections (KPU) insisted Monday that the list of five presidential candidates was final and binding, despite a legal suit by Abdurrahman Wahid, whose bid was turned down for medical reason.

"There has been a verdict from the Supreme Court that turns down Gus Dur's request for a judicial review concerning his medical test," KPU deputy chairman Ramlan Surbakti said in a hearing with the House of Representatives Commission Two overseeing legal and political affairs here.
