Philippines to hold ASEAN conference on intellectual property rights

MANILA, May 25 (Xinhua) -- The Philippines will lead anti- piracy campaign among members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) by hosting the first regional conference on the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights ( IPR), a local newspaper reported Tuesday.

Optical Media Board chairman Edu Manzano was quoted by Today as saying in a statement that ASEAN members, including Brunei, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam, are expected to discuss further regional cooperation and strengthen the protection and enforcement of IPR during the conference.
