Indonesian central bank expected to raise interest rates

JAKARTA, June 16 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian central bank (BI) may raise its promissory notes (SBI) interest rates to anticipate the US Federal Reserve plan to raise its interest rates, senior official said Wednesday.

Anwar Nasution, BI's senior deputy governor, was quoted by Detikcom online news service as saying that the increase of the SBI interest rates will not influence the interest rates of bank credit.
