Mozambican protesters threaten to occupy German embassy "indefinitely"

MAPUTO, July 15 (Xinhua) -- About 40 Mozambican protesters threatened to stay in the German embassy "indefinitely" on Thursday, as they entered into their third day of occupation of the embassy in Maputo.

The protesters, who were former migrant workers, known as " majermanes" in the former East Germany, have their support.

Outside the German embassy, Mozambican riot police clashed with other majermanes. On Wednesday, a riot police unit baton-charged the majermanes. Two people were injured.

Other majermanes approached the embassy building with food for the occupiers, but the police refused to let them deliver.
