Philippines arrests murder suspect wanted by US

MANILA, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- A joint operation by the Philippine Police Anti-Crime Emergency Response and National Bureau of Investigation led to the arrest of a murder suspect wanted by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the law enforcement authorities said Wednesday.

Interior Secretary Angelo Reyes said that the Philippine police operatives captured the suspect, identified as Geronimo Zuniga, on Thursday in the southern province of Mindoro Oriental, with the help of the FBI particularly in the intelligence sharing.

The 53-year-old suspect, who is now facing extradition to the United States, has been also subjected to a warrant ...
