Ethiopia to open direct flights to Eritrea for UN missions

ADDIS ABABA, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- The Ethiopian government has decided to open direct flights at any time between Ethiopia and Eritrea for the United Nations Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea ( UNMEE), the Ethiopian Information Ministry said here on Thursday.

In a letter to the UN Secretary General Kofi Annan on Wednesday, Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said his country has agreed to accept Annan's request to make direct flights between the two countries for the UN mission, according to Ethiopian News Agency.
