Bush proposes measures to reform US intelligence agencies

WASHINGTON, July 9 (Xinhua) -- US President George W. Bush made proposals on Friday to reform the country's intelligence agencies, in response to a Senate report issued earlier in the day that criticized the intelligence agencies for failures on Iraq's prewar weapons programs.

"A couple of ideas that I think make sense," he said, which included increasing human intelligence, making a better use of technologies in intelligence gathering and better coordination between intelligence agencies.

Bush made the remarks when asked about the Senate report during a campaign event in Kutztown, Pennsylvania.
