EU urges release of relief workers kidnapped in Iraq

BRUSSELS, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- European Commission President Romano Prodi has urged Iraqi militias to release immediately the relief workers they kidnapped in the country.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, Prodi called for the immediate release of two Italians and two Iraqis who had been relief workers in the war-torn country.
