Caribbean community holds annual summit in Grenada
HAVANA, July 4 (Xinhua) -- The Caribbean Community and Common
Market (CARICOM) opened its annual summit in Grenada Sunday to
discuss the restoration of ties with the interim government of Haiti,
according to reports reaching here.
In a speech at the opening session, Jamaican Prime Minister
Percival Patterson said the whole world is waiting for the community
to make right decision over the issue.
"The world is watching... The people of Haiti are waiting on us as
we make our decision here," he said.
The support to the Haitian interim government was withheld by the
Caribbean leaders during their last summit ...
