Greenpeace asks Thailand for strict ways of destroying GM papaya

BANGKOK, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Greenpeace warned on Thursday that genetically modified (GM) papaya might spring back to life in Thailand due to the way they were destroyed, local press reported on Friday.

"Their method of burying the papaya trees without separating the seeds will enable them to grow later on in multiples," Jiragorn Gajaseni, director of Greenpeace Southeast Asia, was quoted by Bangkok Post as saying.
