US agrees to send "enemy combatant" to Saudi Arabia

WASHINGTON, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- The United States has reached agreement with a US citizen who has held as an "enemy combatant" for more than two years without charges to send him to Saudi Arabia, officials said Wednesday.

Yaser Esam Hamdi, who was born in the United States but raised in Saudi Arabia, would be sent to Saudi Arabia and stripped of his US citizenship, under the agreement reports said was signed last week.

The agreement also imposed restrictions on Hamdi from traveling to certain countries.
