Nigerian govt. reassures people in Niger Delta of security

ABUJA, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- The Nigerian government on Wednesday reassured Nigerians living in the Niger Delta, south Nigeria, that it had the capacity to contain any threat to destabilize the corporate existence of the country.

After the routine Wednesday meeting of the Federal Executive Council, Information Minister Chukwuemeka Chikelu told reporters that the crisis in the Niger Delta was of "serious concern to the government."
