Crude oil prices in New York soar to all-time high

NEW YORK, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- Crude oil futures briefly hit an all- time high Tuesday as worries persisted over supply and unrest in key oil producers.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange, crude oil for November delivery shot up as high as 50.77 dollars per barrel in electronic trading ahead of the opening of the trading floor, beating a previous high of 50.47 dollars a barrel.

Meanwhile, the November crude-oil futures contract opened high at 46.56 dollars a barrel, up 37 cents on London's International Petroleum Exchange.
