Zimbabwe launches campaign against child abuse

HARARE, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- The problem of child abuse in Zimbabwe is multi-faceted and requires a multi-sectoral approach involving the church, health professionals, police, and the media, Minister of Health and Child Welfare David Parirenyatwa has said.

The minister made the remarks on Wednesday while speaking at the launch of a campaign against child abuse in Mabvuku in Harare organized by the Child Constituency Council.

He said child abuse, especially child sexual abuse, was increasing instead of decreasing so that the issue needs to be addressed vigorously to consecrate the nation about it.
