Originally founded in 1965 as Marine Projects (Plymouth) Ltd, Princess Yachts International Plc now employs staff at four sites in Plymouth - at Coypool, Stonehouse, Langage and Lee Mill.

Over the past three decades the company has built up a global reputation for its high-specification, hand-made yachts, built to order for some of the world's wealthiest people.

It now has more than 80 model lines, which are sold through a distribution web spanning the world, and owns and operates from more than a million square feet of factory facilities.

In 2007, it made sales of pounds195 million. Bosses have said that a planned growth of 15 per cent is expected this year.
