Chesapeake High's graduation will remain on campus for at least
two more years, continuing a decades-long tradition beloved by
Pasadena residents.
Graduates getting their diplomas tonight at 7 p.m. will take part
in the only county high school graduation still held on campus,
though administrators last year toyed with the idea of moving to the
Show Place Arena-Prince George's Equestrian Center in Upper
Marlboro, about 40 miles away.
"Graduation is huge, and it's always been at Chesapeake,"
Principal Patricia Plitt said. "It is easier to hold graduation off-
site. But the community didn't want that, and their wishes will be
honored."
