Article: Court orders Juneau Village sold; Owners at odds over high-rise landmark

A judge has ordered that the Juneau Village apartment complex be sold, but he also urged that the owners reach a marketing agreement that would avoid a sheriff's auction and maximize the sale price of the property, assessed at $58 million.

The sale signals the end of a real estate partnership of three of Milwaukee's most prominent families, a relationship that had disintegrated into what Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Richard Sankovitz referred to as a "little Beirut."

The other option that Sankovitz had was to divide the properties equally, but that, he said Tuesday, was not workable.
