May I, through the columns of your newspaper, offer the sincere
apologies and express the regret of Bradford on Avon Lions Club at
having to cancel our 12th annual family fun day on Monday, May 26,
due to the dreadful weather.
The day began wet and windy but, being eternal optimists, we
began preparations to set up the stalls for the event in the hope
that the weather would improve.
Indeed, the car boot sale element of the fun day did proceed,
albeit with only a few traders.
However, although many of our loyal helpers and contractors did
turn up (some arriving on the previous day), by mid-morning the
weather was still bad, with a forecast showing no improvement
through the day.
