A Soldier from Hull is preparing for a return to the Afghan
badlands to fight the Taliban.
Lance-corporal Brett Mallinson, of Bilton, said he knew just what
to expect.
The 24-year-old has already chalked up three operational tours,
the most recent of which was in Afghanistan last year.
During that tour, L-Cpl Brett was involved in countless battles
with militia.
Now, his unit, the Light Dragoons, which recruits heavily from
East Yorkshire, is gearing up for another six-month deployment to
Helmand Province.
L-Cpl Brett, who is married to Louise, 28, joined the
reconnaissance unit in September 2000.
He said: "I will miss my wife back home, but I want to go back
out there.
"I love doing my job.
