WASHINGTON TWP. -- Jennifer Farrington doesn't want to be a
mogul. She has no desire to be the next indemand designer or another
Vera Bradley, whose brightly colored, quilted bags are all some
people's rage. She's in business, for herself if not by herself (she
has a partner), but it's a business she runs at her own pace.
She makes one-of-a-kind handbags and totes from recycled
material, filling the steady orders and stocking select retailers'
shelves, designing and creating work while refusing to let herself
become overwhelmed. She knows her limitations.
Jennifer Farrington is happy at home, in her welllighted
basement, where two sewing machines and an ironing board are always
