AUBURN - Natural gas line replacement crews will begin moving to
New Auburn this week.
Northern Utilities crews will start replacing a cast-iron natural
gas line under South Main Street on Monday, moving to Broad and Mill
streets as the week progresses.
They'll begin moving to New Auburn's side streets in the next few
weeks. The city and Northern Utilities have scheduled a meeting at 6
p.m. Wednesday in Auburn Hall to discuss the work with neighbors and
New Auburn residents.
"They've already done some work along South Main Street, earlier
this summer," said Gary Johnson, Auburn's assistant city engineer.
Crews have already replaced gas lines along South Main Street near
Ipswich Street, ...
