The tagline for The Great Debaters refers to Wiley College Professor Melvin B. Tolson and his undeterred debate team's inspirational victories during the 1930s.

The Great Debaters outlines both the strife and success of the African-American Wiley students in a racially torn Texas. Released May 13, this DVD is not another grain of sand in the vast ocean of inspirational films, but rather a precedent which demands placement in a class of its own.
