The owners of a Stonehouse fish-and-chip shop have spoken of
enduring abuse and malicious calls in the wake of the Exeter terror
bombing.
Pauline and Norman Mitchell have run King's Fry fish and chip
shop in Cecil Street for 22 years, and say they remember suspected
bomber Nicky Reilly from when he was a young boy.
However, the media scrum which followed the arrest of the 22-
year-old Muslim-convert resulted in one national newspaper
publishing the headline 'Brainwashed at chip shop' alongside a photo
of King's Fry - in a report which included their phone number .
What followed on May 24 - two days after the bombing attempt -
was a day-long series of phone calls and a litany of abuse and ...
