Three soldiers killed in a suicide attack in Afghanistan - taking
the total number of British troops killed there to 100 - have now
been named by the Ministry of Defence.
Privates Nathan Cuthbertson, Daniel Gamble and Charles David
Murray, all of 2nd Battalion, the Parachute Regiment (2PARA) were
fatally injured on Sunday when a lone insurgent detonated an
explosive device as their routine foot patrol was returning to base.
A fourth soldier injured in the attack in the Upper Sangin Valley
in Helmand Province is expected to make a good recovery.
Pte Murray, 19, who grew up in Carlisle, attended the Army
Foundation College in Harrogate at 16 in 2005 before he joined the
