A mother has launched a petition after her son was knocked off a
bike on a busy Exeter road.
Jake Channing, 14, fractured his skull in the accident while
crossing Hill Barton Road, near St Luke's School, last month.
There is a bridge for people accessing the school, but Jake did
not know if he could use it with his cycle.
His mother, Julie Dymond, 32, said: "Jake was unsure whether he
could use the bridge or not. There is a crossing there but it is
difficult to see the traffic lights.
"The first lane of the traffic had stopped but the second one had
not and Jake was knocked off his bike, leaving him with a fractured
skull and temporarily deafness."
Jake spent three days in hospital.
