Article: Free weekly paper to publish last issue; MKE to shut down July 10 over decline in ad sales

Journal Sentinel Inc. will discontinue its free weekly lifestyle publication MKE and its associated Web site, MKEonline, as of July 10, the company said Wednesday.

The move eliminates about 10 jobs. Two MKE staff members have been offered transfers to other posts at Journal Sentinel, said Elizabeth Brenner, president and chief operating officer of Journal Communications' publishing group. Other MKE staffers can interview for openings at the company, Brenner said. Those who don't land jobs will receive severance.
