LONG BEACH - Graduating fifth-graders weren't the only people to
say goodbye to Tucker Elementary on Thursday as the Long Beach
Unified School District finished its regular school year.
All teachers and students were bidding farewell to the school,
which the district is closing to save money during a state budget
crisis.
Nearly all teachers and students will be going to MacArthur
Elementary next school year. Although most are heading to the same
campus this fall, students and teachers were struggling with
emotions as they reflected on Tucker, located at 2221 Argonne Ave.
