HER buzzed-about album may be entitled Keep Walking, but London- born singer Emily Maguire could just as easily have called the new record The Accidental Songwriter.

Indeed, while she's thrilled that her career is taking off in the UK and in her adopted Australia, the singer knows she probably would never have reached this stage had her life not been derailed by a violent twist of fate.

Child prodigy Maguire learned to read music at the same time as she learned to read, and by the age of seven she was an accomplished pianist, cellist and flautist. When she was 16, however, her world was radically changed by a serious car accident.
