Stoke City's director of football John Rudge is hoping to find
the next Peter Hoekstra this summer.
Rudge is on scouting duty at the European Championships, having
been monitoring players abroad for the last few months.
Rudge played a part in bringing fans' favourites Hoekstra and
Sergei Shtaniuk to the Britannia Stadium for former manager Gudjon
Thordarson. He is hopeful the club can find a similar foreign gem.
He said: "It is all about your contacts and people who can give
you information.
"You have to be working hard to see whether or not there might be
something that fits the bill. That might be like a Hoekstra or a
Sergei, or it might be a young player.
