Stanley E. Carrington Sr. saw the worst of human nature as a
soldier liberating a Nazi concentration camp and taught the best of
human nature -- and table tennis -- to his children and generations
of kids at the corner of Michigan Street and Eldora Place in
Beltzhoover.
"He was a great coach. He was really great with kids and gave a
lot of volunteer time," said Carrick native Dan Seemiller, who won
five U.S. men's singles titles and 11 doubles championships in table
tennis.
Stanley E. Carrington Sr. of Brentwood died Friday of congestive
heart failure. He was 85.
The World War II Army veteran owned a television repair shop in
Mt. Oliver and was the longtime president of the South Park Table ...
