Almost eight months after Randall Choate was shot fatally at the
West Side salvage yard where he worked, the investigation into his
murder continues.
Detectives say their only suspect has hired an attorney and
stopped cooperating. They said the suspect's wife also hired an
attorney.
Despite the investigation's challenges, Vanderburgh County
Sheriff's detective Jason Ashworth said he believes an arrest will
be made.
"I am still very optimistic that we'll hold the party responsible
that is accountable for the act," Ashworth said. "We just need
someone in the community.. to send us in the direction of the last
piece of the puzzle.."
Choate's body was discovered at 10:36 a.m. Oct. 26 at McDaniel ...
