Steve Gorvett does not officially start as chief executive until August 1 - but he has already set his sights on taking the Bristol back into the upper echelons of the English elite.

The 53-year-old former Queen Elizabeth's Hospital school pupil used to play for the club when they were one of the best teams in the country during the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Bristol finished ninth in the Guinness Premiership last season but Gorvett, pictured above, is aiming higher for his tenure in charge.
