Poland for continued Lisbon Treaty ratification: deputy FM

WARSAW, June 18 (Xinhua) -- At the EU summit scheduled for Thursday, Poland will come out for a continued ratification by EU states of the Lisbon Treaty, Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Grazyna Bernatowicz said here Wednesday.

"We will be preparing ground for a possible Irish change of mind that may come at a time most suitable for Ireland," she told a Senate committee.

"One thing which is certain now is that the Lisbon Treaty will not come into force as of Jan. 1, 2009, and the EU's continued functioning on the basis of the Nice Treaty is bound to be very difficult," ...
