The husband of Corporal Sarah Bryant, the first female soldier to
be killed in Afghanistan, has spoken of his pride that she died a
hero.
Cpl Bryant, 26, of the Intelligence Corps, died on Tuesday
alongside three SAS reservists, Corporal Sean Robert Reeve, 28, of
the Royal Signals, Lance Corporal Richard Larkin, 39, and Paul
Stout, 31, in the deadliest attack on UK forces in Afghanistan since
hostilities began in 2001.
They were taking part in a planned operation east of Lashkar Gah
in Helmand Province on Tuesday afternoon when their vehicle was
caught in an explosion.
