Luminaries from all corners of the political map are to take part
in a debate inspired by Lincoln's most famous document.
Students will hear from former Labour Party chairman Tony Benn,
former Conservative Party co-chairman Liam Fox and the first
Secretary of State for Justice, Lord Falconer.
The four-day Magna Carta 2008: Exploring Democracy - a Forum
begins on Wednesday and takes place at the University of Lincoln.
It will include talks, discussions and debates on issues such as
human rights, democracy and faith.
The university's Professor Brian Winston said: "There is a
concern that modern society takes democracy for granted so there is
a real educational purpose behind this event.
