MONMOUTH - Voters will get a second chance to establish a budget
for the coming school year on Wednesday, according to school
officials.
The June 10 ballot didn't carry a question asking voters why they
voted the way they did, so the School Committee didn't get clear
direction on whether to increase or decrease the budget. When voters
go to the polls on June 30, the ballot will include such a question
so the School Committee can better understand the outcome.
On June 10, voters rejected a $7.4 million budget, representing a
4.18 percent increase over last year, with a higher contribution
from Monmouth taxpayers of $91,293.
