N'DJAMENA, June 19 (Xinhua) -- The Chadian army has announced that it has defeated rebel fighters during a decisive battle in the town of Am Zoer, 80 km northeast of Abeche, the main town in the east of the country, as it attempts to put down a new rebellion that is threatening to go all the way to the capital N'Djamena.
