As the first anniversary of Gloucestershire's flooding fiasco
approaches, homeowners are bracing themselves for more rain.
This weekend, weather experts are predicting heavy rain, with the
biggest deluge likely to come today.
The dismal forecast brings back memories of last June, which
marked the start of the summer flooding emergency.
Between 5am on Monday, June 25 and 5am on Tuesday, June 26 last
year, 412 flooding incidents were logged by the Fire and Rescue
Service.
Crews attended 207 incidents, dispatching 27 pumping appliances,
two high volume pumps and two boats.
A million litres of water were pumped away and 88 people were
rescued, all uninjured.
