I would like to thank Peter Gove for his comment on the recent
fuel crisis, Many are worth more than tanker drivers, Points of
view, June 19, and his recognition of the hard work put in by NHS
staff.
I work as a nurse on a very busy unit in the South West caring
for sick and premature babies - some of whom are critically ill and
require intensive care.
In the light of the recent tanker drivers' strike, many of us
have felt very despondent and under-valued.
We have trained for three years at university, as well as
continuing studying alongside our jobs after qualifying.
We work 12-hour day and night shifts on our feet, with sick
babies' lives as our responsibility.
