Emergency services were called to the scene of a dramatic rescue
yesterday evening after a "distressed" woman was spotted in the
Humber estuary.
At around 7.20pm, fire, police, ambulance and coastguard crews
were mobilised to the seafront near Cleethorpes' Suggit's Lane after
calls of a woman seen floating in the Humber.
A passer-by is said to have rescued the woman, thought to be in
her 50s, before two fire crews from Grimsby's Cromwell Road station
arrived.
East Midlands Ambulance Service transported her to Grimsby's
Diana, Princess Of Wales Hospital, on Scartho Road, fortreatment.
