Article: West Virginia may be just a flyover state: ; Obama, McCain may not bother much with us

I would love to see the 2008 presidential campaign hoofing through West Virginia. It's exciting when the biggest story in the country arrives on your doorstep.

Plus, it's generally good for the state for the next president to know more about us.

But I suspect it's not going to happen this time around.

I hope I'm wrong, but when you look at the numbers and the states at play across the country, you have to wonder whether Barack Obama or John McCain believes it's worth their while to spend much time here between now and November.

Actually, neither candidate is very popular in the state right now, according to pollster Scott Rasmussen of Rasmussen Reports.
