The price of lunch for Kanawha County school students will
increase by 10 cents next year and by 25 cents for adults if the
school board approves an administration request at tonight's board
meeting.
"We tried to keep the request to a minimum," said Gary Hendricks,
director of child nutrition for Kanawha County Schools.
Prices for an elementary breakfast could increase from $1.15 to
$1.25; for an elementary lunch from $1.65 to $1.75; for a secondary
breakfast from $1.45 to $1.55; for a secondary lunch from $1.90 to
$2; for an adult breakfast from $2.75 to $3; and for an adult lunch
from $3.75 to $4, Hendricks said.
Pricing is based on portion sizes, Hendricks said.
