Not so long ago, a night on the town required a necktie, a jacket and pants with a crease so sharp you could slice lunch meat on it. For women, it was high heels, accessories and the all-purpose black dress.

Today? It's just as likely to be a bowling shirt, jeans and a pair of bright orange Crocs. Or a blouse with a little strip of stomach showing.

Call it Connecticut Casual. A decade after computer nerds led an office attire revolution, dressing down has become a way of life for many folks. Nutmeggers are increasingly opting for comfort over formality at restaurants, at work and even at their preferred house of worship.
